Flash 11 and ie10

Has anyone got flash 11.8 to work with IE10?

 

I've installed ours (using the distributable msi from Adobe) and any flash based site simply comes up with 'an add on for this website failed to run'

 

I know java is a waste of time these days, but is flash now unusable as well!

Ah well - looks like IE9 rollback is on the cards.

 

Reseting the ie10 to defaults makes it work, but a reboot results in the same error. Obviously something screwed with ie10 on this image

No issues here, although I did integrate IE10 (and the prerequisites) into our .wim image using DISM.

Yeah, our image had ie10 on it as well - post imaging the new version of flash is screwed up. The older version won't install properly either, probably because the new version has already been on.

Seems to work fine for me with IE10 built into the image.

 

Windows 7 x64 Enterprise / IE 10.0.9200.16576 / Flash 11.8.800.94

No problems with IE10 on Win 7 and Flash 11.8. As you say, I suspect it's something with your image.

Did you check to see if the plugin was inadvertently disabled? It's easy to do. IE does ask a lot of useless questions including disabling plugins.

Oddly it wasn't the image after all. I deleted the preferences from the group policy and then recreated them exactly the same, and flash now works without an error?

 

Bizarre but just one of many joys of third party stuff! Still gave up with java though!

Only install Java if you need it. I never deploy it as part of an image these days (unless requested).
