smalls001 Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Hi all, Wonder if someone could help. Got a hp p2000 last year can only get mutlipath working in fail over only. Round robin selected get error 'the parameter are incorrect' looked in device manager under te mutlipath for the device under mpio policy round robin isn't a option. What am I doing wrong.... Many thanks in advance
glennda Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 How is it currently setup? I'm guessing ISCSI here? Have you got two seperate vswitches (or at least two vmkernel ports on the same vswitch) with different subnets? EDIT: realised thats for VMware! Erm you will need two nics and two discovery IP's on different subnets 1
smalls001 Posted July 23, 2013 Author Posted July 23, 2013 Hp p2000 directly connected to two dl380 gen one 2008r2 and one win2012, both controllers on difference subnet. Nic1 server 1 ip 10.0.0.1 connects to controller A 10.0.0.2 Nic2 server 1 ip 10.0.1.1 connects to controller B 10.0.1.2 Nic1 server 2 ip 10.0.0.3 connects to controller A 10.0.0.4 Nic2 server 2 ip 10.0.1.3 connects to controller B 10.0.1.4
glennda Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Then that should work - I have only ever used a P2000 with VMware I'm afraid. 1
teklogic Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 I think you have to use the management software for the sans, HP supply it. I know I was looking at having to do that with the 8 P4000 nodes I have. 1
ConradJones Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 is the p4000 basically just proliant servers running the lefthand software?
apaton Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 In Windows 2008r2 you need to configure MPIO to support the P2000. Otherwise you only get failover paths. Something like ocsetup MultipathIo /norestart mpclaim -n -i -a HTH
smalls001 Posted October 30, 2013 Author Posted October 30, 2013 Just wondering if anyone has a hp p2000 1gb iscsi working in the round robin policy. With hyper-V
glennda Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Just wondering if anyone has a hp p2000 1gb iscsi working in the round robin policy. With hyper-V Not with Hyper-V as such but with Server 2008 R2 as the host 1
smalls001 Posted October 30, 2013 Author Posted October 30, 2013 Sorry, windows 2008 r2, I think I found a solution, I am using lun 0 on the San, I think I need to change this.
smalls001 Posted October 30, 2013 Author Posted October 30, 2013 That didn't work, just keep, getting incorrect parameter. Can anyone help !!
rich_tech Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 We have a 2 node Hyper-V cluster where I work with a HP P2000 MSA SAN, I think it defaulted to round robin here after MPIO was setup properly for the iSCSI connections, I will check now 1
