Issue with Windows 8 image

Hi all, here's the issue i'm having,

 

I have an Acer TravelMate P253-E with windows 8 pro 64 bit installed

I'm using Active@ Boot Disk 7.1.0 to create an image, I get it to verify the image and after viewing the log can see that no errors have occurred

 

Now for the second laptop, again this is a P253-E, again im using Active Boot, the image restores but with errors, after viewing the log I see the following warnings;

 

CLIENT_DEBUG_INFO: Kernel RAID

Failed to assign a drive letter G: to restored partition

Please reboot your computer to finalize changes

 

 

So after restarting the laptop, I immediately get taken to the windows 8 recovery screen, where I cant do ANYTHING, no matter what option I choose it simply goes back to this screen

 

ive tried changing settings in the BIOS, changing the AHCI to IDE and legacy to UEFI and back again, no change

 

we suspect it could be something to do with the EFI we just don't know what

Just had a thought...

 

The actual format of the disk within Windows... Is it a GPT disk instead of the "old" fashion MBR disk?

 

If it is, try following the instructions here.

 

If it works, we'll just re-post the instructions here (and in the KB at work) in case that site is taken down

Can I just update this topic...since we had an engineer brick our laptop, I got it restored with a newer BIOS, exact same model as this laptop.

 

I did the following to get MBR on this laptop.

 

Set BIOS to UEFI

Add supervisor password

Turn off secure boot

Run through windows install

 

The HDD from here was MBR and not GPT

We have been imaging Windows 8 for a few months now using Symantec Ghost but we still have to go in and do what nephilim has already stated.. if you do not change the BIOS to UEFI the image fails to load every time.. at least that has been our experience.
