Projector freeze

We're having an issue with an NEC NP100 projector just recently. When you press the freeze button, the freeze icon shows up but it doesn't actually freeze the output (image still changes)... what it DOES freeze is any of the other buttons on either the remote or the projector itself (including the power button)!

 

Anyone ever had anything like that before?

strange one really -on the first instance I would turn off from wall and give it 5 minutes rest and cool down and restart. (that if you haven't already done this)

Negative on both of those... sounds like it's just knackered then I guess.
