Network TV streaming or not?

As part of our new built we will be having the following installed:

 

Satellite Dish Spec.

Triax TD64 solid dish with quad universal LNB aligned to Astra 28.2.

 

12 Way Amp.

12 Way amp type Vision V65-212 12 - (Please note that this will require a mains point and earth bonding point)

 

Aerial

V10-48LF 4G-800 48 Element UHF High Gain Aerial New

 

The problem that I can see with this setup is there is no intention from the builders to install any coaxial cabling to the TVs around our school, meaning the 12way AMP has no use.

 

Would a better option be to have a media streamer connected to the satellite and stream TV across the network, are there issues with performance with that solution? has anyone else implemented a solution to stream TV to their signage screens successfully? Are there any other ways of achieving the same goal?

Sounds like an ill concived plan to me,

 

Where are the TV's going and what is the purpose of them? if your usign an amp then that sugest that one signal will go to all tv's.

 

 

Look at MythTV with diskless front ends.

We use OneLan TV, very expensive for what we get out of it which is why I suggest MythTV ( which will record shows for later viewing ).

The screens are actually signage screens, but it is required that they can be scheduled to change to Channels such as BBC News & Music channels in the fitness suite or show live television when in a smaller box on the signage. I believe we would need the ability to have TVs showing different channels at the same time i.e. BBC news on the signage while a music channel is being played in the fitness suite

various satalleite recievers in the room with the amp and hdmi over ethernet? nott sure if you could change chanels remotely though

The Quad LNB will limit you to 4 channels of sat, how are you going to select that per screen? the DVB-T ( from the antenna can be swiitched as normal at the tv but that's not going to be scheduled.

 

You won't be able to have signage and tv showing on the same screen without the signage server doing it.

 

What you need is inputs from the DVB-T and DVB-S recivers going to you digital signage system. or rather the signage being able to pull streams from a TV server.
