slow driver installation after sysprep

Greetings,

 

Having an odd problem with clients after imagin in that when any new device is plugged in the driver search can take upto a couple of minutes, even for something as simple as a memory stick or a mouse. Im convinced that this has to do with the sysprep procedure where i choose to clear existing drivers, however with multiple hardware setups this is necessary. Checking on windows update is disabled, local driver checking only. Im testing hardware that has existing windows drivers also.

Did you ever find a fix for this? I just did a new Win 7 image then did a sysprep / generalize. and the same thing is happening to me. Slow driver installation for simple things like flash drives.

Any help would be great.
