MattRVBC Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 I'm looking to supply 40 tablets to members of staff but wanted to to see if anyone else had a mobile solution in place to encrypt and lock down either Apple IOS (iPad) or any android devices. I have looked at several solutions\devices but from what I can see there seems to be allot of conflicting stories with regards to securing devices and apply policies both locally and via A management solution. Any comments advice welcomed! :-)
FN-GM Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 I am pretty sure that modern iOS devices are encrypted by default. You will need to enforce the password useage some how. If you plan on using them with Exchange you can enforce this with an AtivSync policy.
MattRVBC Posted July 1, 2013 Author Posted July 1, 2013 Thanks for this, we are using exchange but will be using a mobile app/VPN client to encrypt the traffic between he device and the gateway, I was looking at maybe introducing a mobile management solution to set policies on the device, strong passwords, encryption and possibly the ability to remote wipe\track the device if stolen. Has anyone used any specific management solution or 3rd party tools in the past that they would recommend?
FN-GM Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Seen lightspeed MDM looks really good. Not used it though.
