(some random numbers: there are > 100,000 wired MAC addresses registered in our database; approx 4,500 desktop teaching PCs; about 10,000 desk phones (mostly CISCO VoIP); approx 8,000 IP addresses allocated to the wireless DHCP pools; 3 class B public IP ranges in use (all computers use a public IP); 40Gbit/s internet connection)
