[android tablet] Nexus 7 Apps and Youtube Issues

Hi all

 

Got 16 Nexus 7's at a school but they are currently just glorified internet portals!

 

They will not play Youtube videos or download apps through the Google store. We go through the county proxy.

 

Test an iPad and an iPhone on the same wireless through the proxy....works flawlessly! Downloads apps and plays Youtube videos!

 

Ive logged a call with county but just wanted to see if anyone else had issues where 1 tablet would work and another wouldnt?

You need TCP and UDP 5228 open for Google play.

Flash isn't supported on the Nexus 7 so perhaps its related to that.

Try installing the Youtube app once the port is opened.

Ive got the app, tethered it to my iPhone to download that! Videos work through that tethered but not on our school internet!

 

Sorry should have worded my original message a bit clearer!
