[ms office - 2010] Excel macros. Moving PERSONAL.XLSB to a new location/it keeps vanishing

One of our users heavily relies on Excel macros during his daily work. All-of-a-sudden, and we have no idea why, his PERSONAL.XLSB file keeps vanishing. Unfortunately, given that it's naturally generated in %appdata%\etc\etc, it's not backed up by our system (even though it's redirected, we don't bother keeping hold of it). I've been searching high and low for a way to change it, in-program options, registry keys, etc and there doesn't seem to be an option for this, although apparently something similar was available in earlier versions.

 

For now I've just had to set him up with a batch file that gives him the ability to either

• Backup the current file to his user area on the network, where it will be backed up by our own backups (yo dawg...)
  
• Restore the file in %appdata%\etc (in the event of it vanishing) by copying the file in his user area previously created by the script.
  

This solves the problem for now, but isn't exactly ideal. Would anybody know of a better way to sort this out?
