rickypike Posted October 24, 2013 Author Posted October 24, 2013 Hi all, long time updating this post I know but just want to say a huge thanks to all that added info and help on this post. I successfully launched Office365 to all staff and students a few weeks ago and so far all running brilliantly. Single sign on works great and the whole system is so much better than our old LEA email system. Created a few how to guides for users to make the transition a little easier and everyone seems to have smoothly moved across with out too many hiccups. If anyone else is thinking of making the plunge to go down the Office365 route feel free to message and I'll gladly pass on the info I have learnt along the way. One thing I would advise is turn off IM for students and make sure your AD is spotless before you begin (this will make life easier). Just for some extra info our system is setup using 4 VM's on ESX (2 x ADFS Servers, 1 x ADFS Proxy Server & 1 x DirSync Server). 1
jamesbmarshall Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Great to hear it's been a success! Will you be taking up Student Advantage when it becomes available? (Microsoft UK Education Cloud Blog - Learn About Office 365 Education)
Haptic Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Some of the numbers bounced around on this thread aren't unreasonable for a company to walk in, get everything set up (bells AND whistles), hand over a working system and walk away. Give our 365 Consultant a ring/PM and he can talk you through what parts you can do yourself, and work out which bits you would need to pay for to get up and running. 365 is straightforward to set up, but is often best viewed as a deployment project with one component deployed at a time. We can assist you in constructing this plan. Joe
