So I left my laptop on a shelf for a week... and now the keyboard has completely messed up!

When i press certain buttons, it presses others at the same time!

They aren't even the buttons next to what i press.

Example:

when i press "B", i get "bu"

and

when i press "U" i get "bu" too

This happens with several buttons. ("V" i get "T")

My laptop hasn't been wet/damp and no settings have been changed. It was fine before.

Anyone come across this before? any ideas?

This is SO frustrating. I have no other keyboard to try either.

It's gotten damp - you describe almost surefire symptoms of that happening. Maybe condensation/humidity where it was stored. Keyboards work on a "shared key" structure, particularly membrane keyboards and laptop keyboards.

Just to be sure, take the keyboard out of the laptop, dry and clean it off, leave it in a bag of rice for a day or so. If that doesn't do the trick, time to hop on eBay for a new one.

Lenovo Thinkpad Edge by chance?

Not a fan of the Edge laptops myself, I much prefer the L and T series with their drip tray thingy built in to the keyboard and they're robustness is second to none!
