Ok, I got a cheap switch off ebay.. Tested etc etc etc

 

Iv got the same problem as this guy:

Same model same problem.. Anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it or is it truly fudged?

NetGear switches have a boot loader that will pull an image from a console session over xterm to recover them if the firmware is damaged.

This isn't going to help you if there are other issues with the hardware.

Check this guide out,

Its not definitive but a good place to start, and the SCC utility will find an orphaned switch and flash it as long as the hardware is supported.

 

For legacy switches this guide (although written for the SSL Appliance) is typical and has recovered many an old Netgear for me...

To be honest I wouldn't waste too much time on it though, I have thrown much better switches in the landfill that's a bit of a relic and is no longer supported anyway.

I am going to send it back i think. Buying a Cisco 2950 from someone on here. Last time im buying a cheap switch from ebay
