RogerCorrigan Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Finally fixed my SOLUS 2 to work. Why does SOLUS 2 only work for managed sites? Does SOLUS notify the school if you've done an upgrade? That's the only logical reason I can think of. :L
RogerCorrigan Posted May 17, 2013 Author Posted May 17, 2013 Does SOLUS Notify the school when you have done an upgrade?
synaesthesia Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Solus is a computer program - usually on the schools server. Therefore the school would know when an upgrade has been done... It doesn't notify anyone of anything. Even if it was handled by the LEA and therefore run on the LEA's servers the school's wouldn't be notified by Solus (maybe by the LEA or Capita, or just logging on one morning to find SIMS updating).
matt40k Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Managed sites > paying customers solus2 is like XP, it's old and needs to be replaced. solus3 you can setup alerts, so you can define who gets an email when the upgrade is deployed.
RogerCorrigan Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 Oh ok. I just don't think anybody in our school wants to receive loads of emails every time we do an upgrade. But thank you all for informing me
matt40k Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 You define who gets the email, so you can always define no-one if you don't want an email saying the release completed successfully - it won't give you one for each component, otherwise you'd get hundreds for each computer.
Griff Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I would be more worried about actually getting SOLUS3 to work than email notifications, we are using SOLUS2 given up on SOLUS3.
