Simple library software

Dear All

 

To support literacy we have bought a selection of texts which we want students to be able to borrow and read at home.

 

This area is separate to the main library

 

We need some simple software where we can log in/out when students borrow books and provide a list of unreturned books

 

Anyone any suggestions???

A spreadsheet could be the easiest option, less to manage and generally easier for all staff to use. Look at Google Docs as an option as well: https://drive.google.com/templates?type=spreadsheets

I don't know if you have already heard of it but it might be worth looking at Junior Librarian. There is a demo of it here

Have a look at this Phoenix barcode reader and QuickTrak software.]

 

Junior Librarian is fine, but much too expensive for us.

 

I haven't used the QuickTrak yet, but the reader is dead simple & just works as another keyboard with any software.

+1 for QuickTrackPro: QuickTrack Pro Asset Tracking and Item Tracking Software Mac barcode software, PC barcode software for barcoding software and bar code scanners

 

We've been using it for a couple of years now, very simple to setup shared usage from program set and it just works, very cheap also as you buy the scanner and the software comes free, it was for us anyway.
