Hi folks,

We're looking for a few (or one integrated) software products to monitor our servers as well as monitoring PCs.

I know there are quite a few server monitoring tools including monitor magic from the friendly tools4ever sponsors on this board. Are there any other server/network monitoring tools you guys would recommend?

As far as the PC/user monitoring goes, we want to gather information like, how often a user logged on, PCs usage frequency, which applications they have run, etc. --- anybody know of something like this you could recommend? I spotted something called Express Meter from Express Metrix which deals with software.

Cheers

There's a company called HoundDog Technology that monitors servers and they offer a workstation monitoring service too but I dont know much about that part of it. Its a good product anyway, won loads of awards. Its maybe worth a look.

@baronne: A couple of members use scripts to log logon/logoff times to a database... pretty reports can then be produced ;) A quick search should help you find those - cheap and cheerful too.

For monitoring your servers and network infrastructure, I recommend Nagios (see the wiki for a guide on setting it up).

The only thing I can think of that would do everything is NetSupport DNA... a favourite tool of Dos_Box.
