[sims] Creating a new reason for room closure in SIMS.net

Exams are trying to create a new reason for room closure in cover so they can mark revision classes.

 

We have created the new reason for cover called revision but when we add a new closure in cover, it only gives us the option to add an exam invigilator and not a teacher who is on the free list. If we select add exam invigilator it chaces te closure reason to exam.

 

All we want to do is have a closure called revision and be able to add a teacher from the free list to cover it.

 

Any idea what we are doing wrong?

We found that too. Ended up putting notes in to clarify the real reason.

We actually had a couple of workarounds, but they weren't great. We were trying to solve the problem whereby we have exams that cross our lunch break and go on after school, and wanted to assign cover. As the lunch and afterschool times are not in our cycle, the cover module wouldn't show them correctly, so we ended up assigning extra staff to the periods before / after.

 

We tried, using NCCs in Nova to bring over periods called Lunch cover and you could create Revision ones.

We also tried making new rooms called LSP (L - sports hall) specifically for the lunch, so they could be slotted in the period before lunch with a note.

I tried to make a reason for closure called Lunch Exam and it exhibited the behaviour you described so it wouldn't work.
