chrisredfield93 Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 I was repairing a second hand computer for a realitve, and they had no Windows CD but i noticed there was a COA sticker, so I thought that I recall looking online if you download an OEMBIOS files for the matching brand so i did this and i made an copy of my windows xp cd and replaced the OEMBIOS files with the ones i downloaded and burnt the cd since it gave me two different sets i could use , i tried one but it failed copying the files across on the file so i assume it was corrupt i downloaded the second set and burnet the cd again, this time everything went all to plan but what puzzled me was that i thought it enter a matching product key automatically for me and also activate the copy of windows without it needing online access but it didnt do both the things, i haven't yet activated it since i yet to use nlite to intergrate drivers and xp updates but can anyone shine some light what i doing wrong or have i misunderstood
