SimpleSi Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I was just in middle of using my new laptop (had it about a month) - and the mouse pointer froze.! keyboard was working and when I plugged in external mouse - mouse pointer moves. I can't find anything in the mouse control panel/pad settings to say I've somehow disabled it and in fact is says its working I've even tried switching off and on again!!!!! (I know I shouldn't have gone to those lengths but needs must) Any ideas ! Toshiba Satellite Pro BTW Simon
DJ-Jonesy Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 you haven't disabled the touch pad using the Function key + F? 1
sparkeh Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 you haven't disabled the touch pad using the Function key + F? On my Tosh Sat Pro its F5, other models its F9. 1
SimpleSi Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 On my Tosh Sat Pro its F5, Damm this new use of Fn keys!!!! Bring back the good old days when pressing F5 refreshed your browser!!!!! Ta Simon
sparkeh Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Gah! Turns out my Fn keys don't do what the little pictures say they do. The one to toggle the mouse pad appears to be the death switch that puts the laptop into a non recoverable hibernation :S
difinity Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Maybe try a Linux disc like Mint to see if it's a Windows thing ?
