TechSupp Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Head just had some prospective teachers around and one commented that she had been in schools where teachers had a tablet to control class PC connected to projector and write with rather than have an interactive board. Gues where this is leading.....yes, I got called in and my new project has arrived. So question is, how is it done, android or apple? Free software i.e. vnc or paid specific app?
bclarke Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 There are quite a few ways you can achieve this. Our teachers all have iPads which can airplay to the projector desktop PC using software called Reflector App. You can then use whiteboard apps to write or present with. Any app can then be mirrored to the projector wirelessly. Also, depending on how you would want to set this up, you could use remote control software and apps to control the PC.
DSapseid Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Out Head of IT has a asus transformer tablet and i stuck VNC on it so he can control the computer, works better than VNC on his ipad!
SYNACK Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Or VNC on a W8 tablet. Rdp if using ts or mps as that can pass distinct mouse, pen and touch points and gestures.
dhicks Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Free software i.e. vnc or paid specific app? If you install a VNC server on the PC, you can get several apps for the iPad (and, probably, for Android, etc, too) which use the iPad as a tracker pad - they just use VNC for the cursor and mouse control, saving the bandwidth of transferring any images over the network, which might be good for a slower network (or if everyone decides to use it).
Homeland Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Where looking at a product called 'splashtop' had a trial with it on ipads controlling windows 7 laptops and had great success. Remote PC access software. Remote login for remote desktop | Splashtop
