Hi,

I have installed HAP 8.7 to our virtual server Win2008 IIS7.5.

When i try to access setup.aspx, it only shows a little part of the top page.

I have tweaked web.config file and tried again but it still does the same thing.

I filled the hapconfig file with upn, admin user, admin password, school name and url.

then when i tried to log on, it come up with server error.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated

Thank you :)

Your AD password is wrong in the hapConfig.xml file.

Enable everyone to get into the setup page, put the domain admin password in and save the configuration again. That will re-encrypt the password.

On the server, open regedit

HKLM > System > CCS > Eventlog

Search for Home Access Plus and delete any reference to it.

Try the site again

Search of this forum for Event Log Security gives:

What are you running the HAP+ Application pool as? IIS AppPool\HAP?

You may need to:

To give IIS AppPool\HAP User read permission on the EventLog/Security key follow instructions from 'System.Security.SecurityException: Requested registry access is not allowed.' when writing to event log

Select Start - Run, then enter: regedt32
Navigate/expand to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Security
Right click on this entry and select Permissions
Add the IIS AppPool\HAP User
Give it Read permission

Ok, the password stored in the hapConfig.xml file is wrong, you will need to fix that, open ~/app_data/hapConfig.xml and remove the AD Password (set it to nothing ""), set FirstRun="True" and run setup again.

I managed to get the setup page up however, still only the top page

setup.jpg

I tried to click the save button (to see if it will save and hopefully will show the whole page) but it come up with error

setuperror.jpg

and will not let me go to login.aspx. saying internet explorer cannot display the webpage.

so I changed the FirstRun="False",the login.aspx showed up but when I tried to logon using administrator with and without password, it came up with login failure.

Thank you :)

Screenshot #2 is giving you a clue, the username/password isn't right to connect to AD. Also you're not running v9, you may want to install that.

I have upgrade to v9. my setup page only showed the general section and will not let me go to other tabs (so can not test the AD connection)

I have try to use any variation of username and password and sure that it is the correct combination.

some of them said username/password is incorrect, invalid length and now my ip has been banned until 11.58 :p

it hasn't been able to let me in :(

Thank you nick :)

If it's not letting you get to another tab then your install isn't correct. The CSS doesn't look right, and the javascript is prob throwing an error if the tabs aren't working

Thank you nick, will try re-install HAP and IIS once we back up our server :)

Will let you know.

Have a nice day
