IKWeb Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Hi all I currently have a iPhone 4S with an unlimited data plan. If I take my sim, place it in a iPhone 5 with 4g would 4g work thus getting unlimited data or is 4g something the provider has to turn on like tethering use to be ? Tia guys
elsiegee40 Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 (edited) An iPhone 4 sim doesn't fit an iPhone 5 because it's too big. You would need to cut it down. To get 4G you need 1. A 4G sim 2. A 4G data contract with EE (Other providers will follow, but not yet) 3. To be in a 4G reception area... and the coverage isn't great at the moment If you cut your sim down, you would have the same service as you get on your iPhone 4. Edited April 9, 2013 by elsiegee40 1
IKWeb Posted April 9, 2013 Author Posted April 9, 2013 Well that's that plan out of the window :-) Thanks for the info
Get2theChoppa Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 You can switch on the hotspot option on Iphone 4s and 5.... so tethering should not be an issue... walk into any mobile phone shop in the locality and they will chop ur sim for you!.... or you can use one of the mifi devices?... give it a whirl.... dont give up!
