[sims] FMS dbattach - Object reference not set to an instance of an object

Hopefully someone can help with this - school I'm at have decided to go for FMS. We're already running SIMS (just updated to 2013 Spring release).

When we try a dbattach using either the SIMS or FMS version of the program we get the error listed below.

We've updated the SIMS setups folder etc but this has made no difference

Our County SIMS guy has had a look, and we've even had Capita remote in to try and sort to no avail. There's now talk of a complete SIMS server rebuild which I'm pretty anxious to avoid..so here's hoping that someone out there may have some other suggestions of things to try first...!!

dont suppose you got a fix for this in the end? havign the exact same issue...

No - Capita weren't able to resolve, and in the end thay had to manually attach FMS database to get it to work.

The only clue I could find was that our Frog VLE SIMS extractor stopped working the day after we had SIMS InTouch installed, and was throwing up the exact same error as dbattach, but I haven't been able to pinpoint why or how InTouch could have caused this.

We also tried reinstalling .Net on the server but to no avail...

I'd say FMS SQL Apps wasn't installed into your SQL BINN, but the error is very vague.
