Hi Guys,

 

I am currently still looking into the web filtering solution that we will be requiring in the very near future and was wondering if anyone out there is using Light speed with My Big Campus at primary level.

 

Is it a useful tool to use at primary level or is it aimed more at secondary schools ???

I have seen it work at both levels at previous schools I been in. For the primary school some features where disabled I believe depending on year group.

I'm still playing - not rolled out yet - but I reckon I can make it work for infant age. As @Bashir says, you can turn off any feature you want. I've also played around with "Groups" which are highly customisable. After a very helpful conversation with Lightspeed support, I'm now trying their hosted website feature as a landing page and then set it up with links to the appropriate group page. But that's just tinkering with the interface. The features are all there and they work some magic with YouTube - combined with their filtering solution, it's a really easy way to get YouTube videos to kids without any of the stuff you don't want them to see.

 

Definitely worth a go.

Thank for the info guys, I am still looking at the web filtering options and have the YHGFL coming to see me on Tuesday to discuss Smoothwall, also going to look at Meraki's solution as well next week.
