Google sites

We use google apps for education here. Everything runs fine, but now we are wanting to expand so we have a student google site. At the moment we just have all our teachers on there.

I just want to check.

i create a new group and put all the teachers into it called teachers. i then change the teachers site permissions to just allow the teachers group.

I then create a new group and add all the students called students , then create a new student site and share that with students and teachers?

You are going on the right track. You can also try to release weekly assignments or interactive videos that will provide the students with a enriching learning experience. Technology is changing so rapidly these days Google+ can be used to have a online video conference with your students and also teach them or help them during exams video live web conference.
