SamanthaJane Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I have a Windows 7 laptop here - when I turn it on, it asks for a password - in bios really as Windows hasn't loaded. If I put in the Bios password, Windows then proceeds to load normally. Not sure why this is happening - anyone know how to stop this happening? (My manager is out so can't ask him!) Thanks.
mdench Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Most bios have the option to set an admin password to gain access to the bios it self and a boot password requiring a password to enter before the machine will boot from the listed boot order. Log into the bios and try seeing if a boot password has been set and if so remove it and reboot the machine. It should then boot normally
shayan_doust Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Just as mdench said, try your ADMIN set password. I have had exactly this sort of problem.
SamanthaJane Posted March 19, 2013 Author Posted March 19, 2013 Great. Thanks guys. Someone had set 'user password' instead of 'supervisor password' in the bios.
