Cache Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 I love my terminal server most of the time, quite recently it had been a dream compared to how it used to be. This week it has reverted back to form and is being a right pain in the ####. Every so often the Group Policy Client crashes and that stops the internet explorer policy from applying, leaving us with no internet proxy settings and therefore no internet access on the terminal server. A reboot of the server fixes this and it works along quite happily for a while and then crashes once again. Event ID 1128 is logged in the System event log. I've done some more digging today and event ID 6330 is being logged in the group policy event log, the text being: An unfinished invocation of the Group Policy Client Side Extension {BC75B1ED-5833-4858-9BB8-CBF0B166DF9D} from a previous instance of the Group Policy Service has been detected. This may indicate that the extension caused the Group Policy Client Service to terminate unexpectedly. There is alson one logged for Extension {A2E30F80-D7DE-11d2-BBDE-00C04F86AE3B}. I've managed to track these down to Group Policy Printers and Internet Explorer Branding extensions, however I'm stuck as to where to go from here. I can't remember if I've asked this one or not, however I'm fed up of restarting the server 3 times a day now. Help please!!!!

adamf Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Anything in the gpsvc.log log file or Applications and Services Logs\Microsoft\Windows\Group Policy\Operational in event viewer that might explain what is causing it to crash? 1
Cache Posted March 18, 2013 Author Posted March 18, 2013 There's nothing in the Operational log as that is where I pulled those events from. Can't find the gpsvc.log file, any ideas where it's stored?

Cache Posted March 18, 2013 Author Posted March 18, 2013 I think I had tried that before and it didn't work for some reason. Famous last words, but we're back in the love part of our love hate relationship so far today so I'll try enabling it tonight.
