EN4CER Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Epson emp82 Smartboard 500 Smartboard software 11 The projector displays only it's menu on screen and not what is showing on the laptop. Laptop set to duplicate and tried another laptop. If you touch the blank smartboard screen it operates the laptop screen. I have changed the vga and usb cables. Can anyone suggest what the issue is likely to be? All help appreciated. Thanks EN4

staningrimsby Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Can you bypass the vga cables and connect the laptop directly to the projector ??? 1
EN4CER Posted February 27, 2013 Author Posted February 27, 2013 Can you bypass the vga cables and connect the laptop directly to the projector ??? Thats a great idea, I'll give that a go when on site next week. Cheers
EN4CER Posted February 27, 2013 Author Posted February 27, 2013 Projector set to the wrong source? No, tried that and reset everything to default.
Mako Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 What operating system is the laptop? How did you set it to duplicate (function keys, GUI)? Depending, you may need to tell the laptop to identify the second display. I've had it before where the function keys would identify another output, but not display. On Windows 7> Right click desktop > Screen resolution> See if the other display is there. If not, you might need to click "Detect" and/or click the display and set a resolution there, and how you want it to display (under the multiple displays drop-down). If you've tried all that (I'm jumping to assume you haven't, apologies if you have), then I'd attempt the direct connect to the projector idea (or try that first). 1
laserblazer Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 If the projector is up high, it might be worth connecting the laptop to a monitor first and getting that to work before climbing around the projector. Might be a bit more comfortable. 1
