PlEEEESSSSSEEEE Help - Quick time

I have uploaded an MP3 on a website and when I submitted I got the icon below. I cannot open the file when i click on it. Why is this?

What site, what kind of computer, it sounds like the site may be trying to play it through QuickTime or your computer is set to use QuickTime as a default player.

From the picture and the "broken" html at the end I'd be tempted to say it's just not properly linked.

I just changed the browser and it worked cannot understand why???

Some browsers, quite rightly, refuse to work with Quicktime. The whole planet should refuse to work with Quicktime.

It's not anything friendly - it's been crap since the 90's and it continues to do so now. Even in the 90's on Windows 3.x it was wholly ignored and for some reason it drags on.

Its all part of Apple's plan. It works pretty reasonably on Macs (although I do remember having to mess around with it a bit on OS 7.1 a bit). I reckon the plan is to make it work somewhat substandard on Windows, so they can turn around and say "ah, Windows, there's your problem - you want a Mac, it just works"...

Probably because the person who designed the website didn't use the correct embed code to get it working in all browsers.

 

Quicktime shouldn't be allowed to play MP3s! It's awful.
