A techy mate was trying to uninstall Office 2007 beta, following the guidelines at http://www.sharepointbuzz.com/index.php/2006/11/16/how-to-manually-uninstall-office-2007-beta/, and instead of deleting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products\*F01FEC they deleted HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18

We've both tried googling to find out what exactly it does, but can't find anything out - I had a look through mine and it appears to contain strings of varying files related to applications, with all the keys being in hex.

Does anybody know what exactly that key does, and how badly screwed his registry is?
