  2. Hi all We have a school performance coming up. I would like to have a live video stream from the stage going to the backroom area. I was thinking an IP camera of some description but the quality for the video/audio is probably not that great. Any advice on equipment or ideas of what we could buy?
  3. We kicked off our migration to Office 365 last Sunday, we have a 70mb Leased Line and Exchange 2010 Server with 100mailboxes. Around 120GB of data. We setup a user called "MigrationUser" which basically migrates all data out of all mailboxes and into the Office 365 environment. And it's still going.............around 70% done. We are using a product called Skykick. Skykick support have said our Exchange server is low on resources. Only error I am getting on my Exchange 2010 box: "Process w3wp.exe () (PID=10016). User 'Sid~FHS\MigrationUser~EWS~false' has gone over budget '187' times for component 'EWS' within a one minute period. Info: 'Policy:DefaultThrottlingPolicy_6abb58c1-7df0-44e1-837b-a4d0df304e96, Parts:MaxConcurrency:27;CAS:158;'. Threshold value: '100'." Can anyone assist on this please?
  4. Don't worry I got it! Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.
  5. This is very helpful, question though. Control Panel is still displayed on my desktop after redirecting the desktop to \\server1\user.desktops\student ? Which works fine btw. Do you disable UAC?
  6. Thanks for that sted, I have already chosen that option....
  7. Thanks, I saw this comment from Michael "Navigate to the folder where your home directories are located. Right click in the column 'Size' > 'More...'" I cannot see how to change this?
  8. I did have this setup...... but in \\server1\user.data where the users home directories are stored. It has created a load of My Documents folders ?
  9. Hi, I have Server 2008 R2 with Windows7 clients and office 2010. Users have local profiles, how do I go about getting Office 2010 applications like word to load straight away without it looking like the first time the user has opened it?
  10. Hi all, We have had Server 2008 R2 with XP in place for sometime, but are gradually introducing Windows 7 Pro and IE10. We appear to have an issue where when you open up IE10 on a student or staff login, it doesn't detect the proxy settings from group policy. If you refresh the page it may well then load the webpage? Any ideas? or are we going to consider putting IE9 on them?
  11. Hi all, We have Server 2008 R2 with windows 7 clients. Every user has their own mapped home drive through AD. e.g. H At the moment that is in sync with their documents folder, I want to hide the documents folder so the only place they will have available to save to is H Drive. Any advice?
  12. Hi all, We had a Server 2008 R2 server with all XP Machines which seemed to work fine with the below setup. ------------------- Student had .man profiles \\server1\userprofiles\student Then their user start menu would redirect to \\server1\students\desktops - where we could easily drop desktop shortcuts to installed programs. GP locked down control panel, run, cmd, IE, added the proxy and home page. ------------------- Since upgrading several machines to windows 7 and internet explorer. The .man profiles for windows7 don't seem to work as well or there are logging issues. IE not applying the proxy from GP. Profiles seem to be a thing of the past, any advice how you have your windows 7 machines configured?
  13. Hi all, Just pricing up Smoothwall for 50 PC's for our school, this is the pricing. £1500/year for the box (no support, just updates) £600/year for content filtering (50 PC's) £300/year for expedited warranty, under standard warranty it could take over a week to replace Education services agreement, £600! which is support for the year, not unlimited either. £900 for training onsite I don't think I would mind if all these "extras" where included in the price, but the fact they're adding them on frustrates me. Smoothwall is open source, so what's stopping me from just using my own box and installing it?
