I am trying to set up all our new iPad’s up using a Mac OS X server with profile manager however the problem is that it cannot push the settings to the devices they can see the server via https://servername.local/mydevices and they enrol and get the intimal connection profile once they have this they should be able to wirelessly get the rest of the profile over the WiFi network but they can’t after much research it seems Smoothwall (Proxies/Filtering and Firewalls) in general are a massive barrier for this. Does anyone know how to get around this. I need help ASAP.

Many Thanks

Hi Andy,

Yes and no, basically what you need to do is get the routing in your network sorted so that all traffic is forced via your Smoothwall or Proxy server, as the process basically is due to the way in which the proxy handles non 80 or 443 traffic. I am happy to explain further if needed.

Thanks

Please explain more. We are having similar issues and have Smoothwall set as the default gateway on the subnet with iPads.
