psydii Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Academy chain to scrap governing bodies - BBC News
elsiegee40 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 A multi academy trust does not have to have local governing bodies in each of its academies. Many do not. It's hardly a news story in my opinion. There does have to be parent representation, but this can be done through parents serving on the Trust or by parent councils/advisory bodies or similar. Ultimately the directors of the trust are responsible for everything that happens in the academies. If they choose to do it themselves rather than delegate some of it that's their decision to make. They cannot delegate responsibility for finance.
