Unable to write on desktop with Smartboard Pens

Hi everyone,

 

We just upgraded all our pcs to Windows 7 and the latest version of Smart Notebook 11. For some reason after the upgrade we are no longer able to pick up a pen and annotate the screen. Before you used to be able to pick up a pen and a canvas would straight away pop up on the screen allowing you to write but this doesn't happen any more.

 

The board is interactive and the drivers are installed. Deployed via the Smart Install Manager.

I take it as well as the drivers you've installed the SMART NoteBook and Essentials? (you should get a tool bar to - usually by default - the left of the screen with all the tools and such on).

 

If that's not there, then you won't be able to do the whole writing thing as the Drives just make it operate as a big mouse, but the other bits and pieces (of which the drivers get installed with by default) allow the full interactive functionality.
