Is there a way to export a list of the reports in SIMS into something usefull (like Excel/CSV)
I'm just having a bit of a tidly up and want to get rid of all the rubbish public report staff have created and just leave the usefull ones. However to do that I need a list and I don't want to manually type them all out.

6th January 2011, 12:41 PM #3 @stuart - you realise that you can't delete other peoples reports right? you have to be the report creator and then delete it from there. unless you mean individual reports. in which case it's okay to delete whatever.
either way, as well as print screen, the print button on most SIMS screens now does a pretty good printout, not sure if it's there on the data reports list though.

6th January 2011, 12:42 PM #4 one thing to consider is to use Categories, it allows you to effectively promote the reports that you want and categorise them. The only problem is that each user has to enable categories, however i have a flash video that hows people how to do this if required.

Good point. Also, if you know where to look you must be able to get a list directly out of SQL?

Can I, with full rights to everything, not delete them? What if the person't left?
Anyway my first point of call is to send out the list with all the public reports on to their creators and say "are these usefull/Needed by everyone?" If not then save them as private and delete the public ones.

6th January 2011, 03:31 PM #7 When somebody leaves I edit their Password, log in as them and then delete the unwanted reports!
Care has to be taken though that other Staff are not using the Public ones!
Invariably I have a copy of the original as they normally clone mine and then edit them just slightly and save as Private!

Currently only the author of the report (as in the username) can delete reports. Doesn't matter how many permissions you have.
Best advice is to reactive that user account in SIMS, login as that user, and tidy up. I did it, it is a pain but once done is out of the way.

6th January 2011, 03:31 PM #9 Not even with global GOD rights. If someone leaves you have to reset their password and log in as them to delete their reports. great hey.
If they're not useful i wouldn't even bother telling them to make them private. just delete.
What you can do is to export any reports you're not sure about, so can re-import later if someone complains. i backup all my custom reports this way, as the templates have a way of getting borked during editing at times.

7th January 2011, 10:03 AM #13 There has been at least one CR on SupportNet for this for some considerable time!
It isn't such a major issue though.
I just delete the reports as a integral part of my procedure for removing users from the system.

Yes it does. First couple of lines from the Green Abbey test database are:
