Hi,

Just wanted to share a quick summary of the changes to our school-wide power management options in the latest updated of NetSupport DNA, it went live today. ( Existing users can download automatically using the check for updates option in the console).

In addition to tracking energy costs and identifying energy used in and out of school hours ( as shown below ) , where you can drill down by departments, to individual PCs and see their use over time,

The latest updated extends our base features of scheduling Power On and Power Off of PCs with lots of extra options and controls.

Sticking with the theme of keeping all UIs nice and clear and simple you can see above, PC Power management ( ON and OFF ) can be scheduled by day of week and in response to customer requests we have now added the option to stagger the power on process to avoid a spike that might trip school power.

We have then added new Inactivity Policies, that allow a school define rules that apply for different times of the day to manage how PCs are handled when they are inactive for a specific period of time. For each policy ( in the example above, Policy 2 is show as the blue lines starting at 17:00 until 23:00 each evening), any PC that is inactive for 30 minutes will be shut down ( if the PC is logged off) or logged off (if it was left logged on), you can customise this to do nothing, send the device to sleep, log out or power down the PC.

Users get warning well in advance and have the option to suspend any pending shut down.

Power management and reducing school energy costs is clearly a regular topic so we want to ensure NetSupport DNA provided the full range of options for schools.
