  1. Hi we have active directory domain with following Server 2008 R2 servers: Server 1 DC+DNS+DHCP Server 2 DC+DNS Server 3 IIS - VLE/Intranet Server 4 MS SQL - backend database for VLE Server 5 ISA 2006 - Firewall We would like to make VLE/Intranet accessible over the web; VLE uses ldap for the user authentication. Can someone please suggest the best security measures. If you have published your school intranet/VLE or web-server; what sort of security measures have you implemented? Any help would be much appreciated.
  2. I have seen Firefly.net but they seems more like normal CMS with some learning platform features than proper VLE. What about Moodle? Moodle seems to do much much more than Firefly and has large support community.
  3. we use Juniper SSL VPN where users goes through secure website. Users goes to the remote access website and enters username/password; instantly they will receive a sms with passcode (OTP) which needs to be entered after the username/password box then will be presented with a welcome screen with users home directory contents on web-based explorer or they can click on terminal server link to connect to windows server 2008 R2 TS. We are looking to replace our Juniper SSL VPN as it is quite old and buggy when it comes to remote access via Apple Mac clients. Can someone please recommend something alternative. I liked the idea of RD Gateway with Remote Apps.
  4. Do you use SSL VPN for remote access to terminal server for Students/Staff? Which SSL VPN do you use?

  7. Hi, One of our computer lab used for exams has 30 windows 7 domain computers. Is there any way to auto logon to these 30 computers with the single user account. We need to do this on the Exam day and currently we go through each computer and type username and password. All computers will be logged on with single user account.

  11. hi gatt, somehow i dont have hostgroups.cfg. but my nagios works fine: is it necessary to create .cfg file for each hosts with all the services. Isnt there anyway where we can have a single cfg file with list of services and another file for each host which will pull the services details from the services cfg file. currently i have something like this: host1.cfg define host define service a define service b define service c define service d define service e define service f define service g host2.cfg define host define service a define service b define service c define service d define service e define service f define service g host3.cfg define host define service a define service b define service c define service d define service e define service f define service g host4.cfg define host define service a define service b define service c define service d define service e define service f define service g
  12. basically all my servers cfg are in Servers folder and i want to avoid using this default windows.cfg. Right now windows.cfg has default config been setuped automatically by nagios installation. if i remove windows.cfg, the "/usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg" scripts gives error saying "Error open config file windows.cfg fore reading......" Unless i put one of my domain controller settings on this file. I just wanted all my server cfg to be in server folder and printer cfg to be in printer folder. Thanks gatt.
  13. thanks Gatt, this is the hierachy of the /usr/local/nagios/etc in my nagios installation objects | | printers | bro-5250-01.cfg bro-5250-01.cfg bro-5250-02.cfg hp-4700-01.cfg objects | | servers | dc01.cfg dc02.cfg exch01.cfg printsvr.cfg ts01.cfg ts02.cfg objects | | commands.cfg contacts.cfg localhost.cfg printer.cfg switch.cfg templates.cfg timeperiods.cfg windows.cfg hav i setup the monitoring for servers & printers in a correct way? Also the windows.cfg has some default configuration which displays "winserver" in the nagios page. Is there anyway i can ignore this windows.cfg, i tried deleting it but it doesnt works. thanks
  14. Hi Gatt, I will be grateful if you could pass me your sample configs and plugin please. Thanks everybody
