  1. Using version 7, is there anyway we can customise the welcome page (the first page after logging in) to add some custom text and the username. For example, Welcome to Home Access Plus. Thanks!
  2. Hmmm.. everything seems to be working finally, and I'm impressed. The solution seemed to be disabling the comapibility view in IE8 and voila all the ticks appeared green! So that's one school setup, now to the next school! ;-)
  3. We're using IE8 here. I can try the debugging and get back to you in a few days when I'm back at the school.
  4. I couldn't find an option for FORMS authentication, it seems to be missing from IIS6 unless a sepearate download is required. I have also tried the above test commands: /api/test/ - ok - see attachment /api/setup/help - list of api calls - see attachment but still i'm getting red crosses on all services. how is the general level of compatibility for HAP+ with IIS6? i feel i've tried everything and read the documentation but still having issues. is there not a an iis6 video for version 7 to talk through step by step? unfortunately i can't get iis7.
  5. I've left it to login anonymously as per the manual and unticked windows authentication. thanks for your help Nick.
  6. Thanks Nick for your reply. I'm not at the school until next Monday so I will let you know how I get on. I did try /api/setup/help earlier and it took me back to the setup page showing the red crosses. I also tried another PC with the same screen appearing. Any other suggestions I can try next week?
  7. Okay, just an update. I can now access the setup page again, I removed the hapconfig.xml file and the setup is now showing red crosses for: - IIS6 Wildcard Mapping - Services Activated - App_Data Write Accss I have done the wildcard mapping, the services are activated and the permissions on the app_data are also set. Anyone shed some light on this. Thanks.
  8. I've installed HAP version v7.10.0311.1730 running on Windows 2003 as a member server and IIS 6. The problem is whenever I attempt to goto the https:///hap/api/setup/help - error 404. And https:///hap/default.aspx - Server Error in '/' Application The HAP login page does appear sometimes but it rejects any username and password. I have yet to configure the web.config file. I have check the wildcard application maps and also given the correct permissions to the HAP folder. Any help would be much appreciated.
  9. I've just installed the software on the teacher's laptop and that works fine! I'd still like to know what is causing the problem on the desktop.. thanks leco for your replies.
  10. Strangely it doesn't happen on the Administrator account. Also when this problem occurs in Notebook, I check the CPU usage and it's around 48% which seems to suggest that the system isn't overworking!
  11. I'm having this strange problem on a teacher's desktop. When using the Smart Notebook 10 for Windows software, the response when writing on the board is very slow. It seems to take ages for what is written on the board to appear (around 3-4 seconds behind). When I minimise the Notebook software, the response is slightly better. This problem does not exist on the Administrator account. It seems to happen on all other teacher accounts at this computer. The system is a Celeron 3ghz with 1gb RAM running Windows XP. I have re-installed the board drivers and the Notebook software. I have also calibrated the board a few times. I have contacted Smart about this issue and so far unable to help. Surely someone may have experienced this same issue before. Last resort is to re-install the OS, which should fix the problem! Thanks in advance!
  12. Finally sorted!! The above solution from Alex helped - thanks for this. I'd also like to add that this worked when I installed on C:\Program Files instead of a network apps folder. Thanks for all your help on this forum. Collins are awful with their support service!!
  13. Yes - I have added the site to the proxy exceptions.
  14. Thanks for your reply. Let me know what port you're using. I might try a different port now - will let you know how I get on.
  15. I've been trying to install Collin Primary Maths software over a school network, the installation is successful however when attempting to launch the application the web browser simply says "page cannot be displayed". The software uses a web-backend with an apache server installation. I've now had this same problem in two schools. The software requires port 8080 to be used which is already open. Does anyone know how to install this over a standard school network? If you require any further details, please let me know. Thanks!!
  16. i'm trying to setup my Nokia E71 with my school Exchange email. I have checked to see it's enabled for mobile devices. I have downloaded the latest version of Mail for Exchange but getting the following error when attempting to connect: "Invalid host address. Correct the Exchange server information Profile > Connection" I have simply entered 'exchange' as the server name as this is what it is called and have selected a non-secure connection. I was wondering if anyone knew why the above error appears? Or if there is an alternative way to insert the Exchange server. I have attempted to put the IP address but it simply says "cannot connect". Your help will be much appreciated.
