Google AntiGravity - Anyone using it ?
mavhc replied to 2097's topic in AI in Education & Enterprise
The days of SaaS are numbered when we can just create our own custom tools -
Yeah, need to define roles/job titles precisely, and you end up using groups as well when someone has multiple roles, but the problem of not being able to use OU hierarchy for certain things is the main cause of the entire mess, and probably why they got rid of it for Entra
-
I made all my entra groups using a combination of school/site/job title, and staff vs student (job = "teacher" or job = "ta" or job ="head") and (site = "site1") etc
-
Surely you have 1000s of computers already. Will the terrorist cut the internet line before attacking the school?

I've used various LLMs to make my Archive Printer system, identify filetypes, parse excel files, search for files, merge with other folders, and combine log files into spreadsheets, all with the free models. In agy.exe /quota shows you your remaining quota, when it runs out /model to switch then I just say "continue". Basically any small task is now automated -
How odd, surely a couple of small desktops running in the rack on a failover system can do what you need, no need to pay £5k for a giant server
-
Why can't you run a server locally?
-
I recommend a poe to usb-c data/charging device to avoid having a critical device on wifi either way
-
Have signinapp released their Android version yet? Last I heard they weren't bothering to fix bugs because they were rewriting everything

KCSIE 2026 - Filtering & Monitoring Reviews
mavhc replied to fiza's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
testfiltering is the Bechdel Test of filtering, an impossibly minimal standard that somehow many don't even reach. Pay $20 a month for an AI subscription and leave it trying to find bad sites automatically every day, give it all of a domain/pupil/staff/guest VM/login so it can test multiple places -
it's only been 12 years since they started migration, I'm sure they'll find a competent programmer soon, private equity sounds like the type of company that invests for the long term
-
Assume AI is a fancy search engine, ask it questions about the student, it'll then search all the data and return info. Eg we're going to the zoo, and issues I know know about my students? it's very hot, which students have known issues?

Classroom.Cloud - pcs losing connection/long sleep time
mavhc replied to ITGuyNW's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Ask AI to write a script to every x seconds check if there's a socket open to the server, and if not, restart the service -
I use Cambium, they're great, you can pay extra for the Pro cloud features, but that's mostly for apartment blocks and people selling access. There's only 2 access levels on the admin interface, Admin or Read Only, so not great if you need more, but apart from that, no problems

AI voice recording and note taking
mavhc replied to ultraspy2000's topic in AI in Education & Enterprise
Surely you can tell who's talking by the fact that they're emitting sound from their user on the meeting. If you're transcribing you're processing their voice anyway- 13 replies
