Hi,

I need help on how to deny users from saving on desktop.

I already denied their write permission on security permission but they can still add new files on it.

Is there a third party applications that can do this?

Hope to here from anyone. :doh:

How do your users get their desktop?

We use desktop redirection. The folder that our users get their desktop from [a shared folder on a central server] has the permissions required to prevent them from adding or deleting items.

It works.

I used to have this problem on my computer,

You should be able to modify the permission from the person you would like to stop saving to the desktop by modifying the Desktop folder in Startup Scripts. The Group Policy cannot restrict/add/remove items if they have modify permission.

You can enable the policies by doing this:

User Configuration->Administrative Templates->Windows Components->Internet Explorer->Internet Control Panel,-> Security Page

You can enable "Allow file downloads" policy and select Disable in Internet Zone and Intranet Zone.

deep freeze is a really good program that prevents any changes to computers.. you can also look into mandatory profiles as well.
