[ms office - 2010] Office 2010 I have no navigation or library pane when trying to save

I have a problem with one machine on which when I try to save an office document I have no navigation or preview pane showing, they are ticked in the organize menu but just not showing, so the owner of the machine has no option to save to without typing the path to the save in the address bar. I have checked the options in save, I have checked the folder options on the machine and I have even unimstalle dan reinstalled windows. Has anyone got any ideas where I can go next?
