BJG Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 What's the easiest way for me to set things up for a handful of Outlook 2010 users so they can access a set of centrally managed distribution lists...? Will I need Exchange Server, or can I just leverage Shared Contacts or something...? Thanks for any thoughts...
sukh Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Exchange server or 0365. Really depends on what you have deployed already?
sukh Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Do you have any email service setup or being provided to you?
BJG Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 The email service they're using is provided by the local council, with accounts hosted on their Exchange server(s).
Ric_ Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 The email service they're using is provided by the local council, with accounts hosted on their Exchange server(s). Create distribution lists on the Exchange server?
BJG Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 (...thing is we can't get at the council's Exchange Server to manage it, so I was wondering if we'd have to set up our own or if there was an easier way...)
sukh Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 If they are providing you with a service, then they should do this,;it only takes a few minutes to setup a DL.
BJG Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 ...but we want to be able to maintain these lists ourselves (without emailing a request through every time there's a change)...
sukh Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 they can setup the dl so you can add/remove users to it. I assume they are all internal users? 1
FN-GM Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 ...but we want to be able to maintain these lists ourselves (without emailing a request through every time there's a change)... If they set it up correctly you will be able to do this. 1
BJG Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 That's a big "if", but I'll ask...thanks all...!
