Mintsoft Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Hi all, Does anyone know of a way I can make it so that before anyone can access the internet through our squid proxy, they have to click I agree on a button on the website? I'm sure I've seen similiar things around but I dont know how to do it myself. Thanks in advance Rob Emery
Mintsoft Posted July 6, 2007 Author Posted July 6, 2007 Although thinking about it, It doesn't have to be a squid proxy; anything will do! its purely as a passthrough anyway. All our filtering etc is done at county level.
Guest Guest Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Yeah just setup a page with a "i agree" button which forwards you to google or whereever. Simpley setup the users homepages to goto your "i agree" page.
Geoff Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Thing is though it's not enforcing it. You might want to consider using a captive portal or network access control system.

Geoff Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 No. read the FAQ: http://wiki.squid-cache.org/SquidFaq/InterceptionProxy especially: http://wiki.squid-cache.org/SquidFaq/InterceptionProxy#head-e56904dd4dfe0e21e5c2903473c473d401533ac7
Mintsoft Posted July 10, 2007 Author Posted July 10, 2007 No. read the FAQ: http://wiki.squid-cache.org/SquidFaq/InterceptionProxy especially: http://wiki.squid-cache.org/SquidFaq/InterceptionProxy#head-e56904dd4dfe0e21e5c2903473c473d401533ac7 So if i'm reading that correctly it means that users go through the proxy, even though their settings are setup for a direct connection? Thats more extreme than I wanted, our proxy information is distributed by WPAD at the moment, all I wanted to be able to do was make it so the proxy would direct all traffic to an I Agree page until that user clicks it, I sware I've seen something similiar at a university somewhere but I cant remember how they set it up. Any thoughts on that?
Mintsoft Posted July 10, 2007 Author Posted July 10, 2007 AFAIK, I've never seen anything like that for squid. Alright then, I might of dreamed it! Thanks for your input anyway
