Downloads Folder 'Restricted' for student Users

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Our students can't save downloads to their 'Downloads' folder. They get the following error. I cant see where in group policy you can allow access to the folder?? The file does download and will save to another location if the user selects save as on the download but will also show this error before allowing you to change the folder. We need to either allow access to the downloads folder OR change the default location in which downloads go?

Any help appricated

'Downloads' isn't a folder, it's a library. So you need to remember it's a combination of one or more folders. One of these underlying folders is probably restricted. Probably the one residing on the C drive. The best thing to do is to control the library functionality in GPO and point it to a sub folder of their home folder. Here's a thread on the subject.
