TMG + Websense TRITON - ODBC Database does not exist

Right, after six years I thought they may have bucked up their installers but I was wrong. Last time I installed it, massive issues with the DB. This time, Its the DB again.

 

Using TMG 2010 on Windows Server 2008 (would use R2 if TMG did not choke on it). Try to install Triton and it assumes that the DB is already installed. It isn't.

 

After way too long messing about with it, turns out it only detects and uses the 32bit version of SQL Express 2008 R2.

 

May help someone else getting stupid pointless undocumented errors from the hopeless installer.

 

EDIT:

Oh and after manually installing 32bit SQL express 2k8 r2 remember to enable tcp/ip comms to it and give it a different port number as TMG takes the default. You'll need to do this for the Web Security component to talk to it as it can't use shared memory.

Who wrote this installer??? yikes, did they work for RIM beforehand.
