reggiep Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 We are about to start fully using HAP for our staff. Is there a way to monitor or log who has logged in to HAP? I am bound to be asked to monitor its usage and it would be nice to have something to show the SMT! Thanks
nickbro Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 It's done via the Web Tracker, which is part of the logon tracker when you tell it to use a SQL Server Database Provider 1
reggiep Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 Thanks for that nick, IS this covered in the install documentation somewhere? I'd like to give it a go! thanks
nickbro Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 It should be, Logon Tracker SQL Provider There's also this video Home Access Plus+ - Documentation 1
reggiep Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 (edited) Just before I go off and do this, will this log logons to HAP itself even from home? Thanks Edited November 14, 2012 by reggiep
nickbro Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 yep, because of the amount of data that the web events take up it needs something a bit beefier than a XML file. Here are some screenies 1
reggiep Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 Hopefully last question! How do I get to see these stats when logged on as an admin? thanks
reggiep Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 duh! I guess I browse to /tracker to get there!
nickbro Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Yep that's it. You should have a link to it under the management tab of the homepage
reggiep Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 Thanks Nick for all the help. I followed your video tutorial and now I can see who has logged in. I can't see the graph that you have in your pics above but that doesn't worry me! Reg
reggiep Posted November 16, 2012 Author Posted November 16, 2012 Ok I lied. I had a look at the the fix on documentation section of codeplex which says this... Logon Tracker Charts don't show Open the ~/Web.config file Find ChartImageHandler. Change the temp directory the system uses. Close the ~/web.config file and try again However that doesn't seem to be in the latest web.config!
nickbro Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 That doesn't apply any more. It'll be a javascript error with jqplot
reggiep Posted November 16, 2012 Author Posted November 16, 2012 Hi Nick, Does that mean it is an error with the javascript on the client?
reggiep Posted November 16, 2012 Author Posted November 16, 2012 Sorry, I found your answer in this thread... http://www.edugeek.net/forums/home-access-plus/102667-possible-log-access-users-using-hap-home-2.html I need the extra scripts that you have posted there. Thanks again Nick for all your amazing work on HAP
