Shutdownatron - Interactive Services Detection message

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hi Guys,

We installed Shutdownatron today and its working great, however if you set a custom message in group policy to appear, the Interactive Services Detection kicks in and flashes down the bottom on the control panel like this:

Then you have to click on it and click on 'View Message' to view the custom message we have set.

Is there a way of disabling this pop-up so that it goes straight to our custom message? If so can it be done through GPO? Obviously users arn't opening the dialouge at the bottom in time at present before it shuts down. We want it to be fully automated.

Cheers

It won't work like that on Vista+ due to the way things were changed. A service that isn't running under a users permissions can't "popup" to show things without the interactive services showing.

No work around then?

We can disable the user popup message, its not a huge issue, just helpful to let people abort the shutdown if they are still using it.

Hi

As far as I know shutdownerton is not 100% compilable with windows 7. The last time I checked support has been with drawn.

I leave it running but have to also run a scheduled task to run a script to shut the computer down. A belt a braces approach.

Have a look here.
