That's exactly how our network is set up.

 

Regardless, the MSI is trying to save to "\\XXX-SR-001\" and listing the contents (much of which can't be locked down and shouldn't need to be!)

 

Just trying a registry hack for it now. Not amused.

 

Edit: Reghack worked. No idea why it decided the network root would be suitable!

Hmmm, probably a stupid assumption on the part of the software.

 

Java does a similar thing - to find the user's area, it assumes that it's on the same drive as the user's desktop(!!!!). So to find the user folder, it traverses "%userprofile%\desktop > up a level", which is wrong if you redirect user desktops.
