I have installed WPKG on a Windows 7 x86 client which only seems to work at user logon and not computer startup.

I had set it up originally on a x64 machine which installed the software on startup but for the life of me I can't find out what settings are different. I know I must have missed something obvious but where do I need to look to force WPKG to install software on start up before a user logs on?

I have set Always wait for the network to enabled but it doens't seem to make any difference.

Any thoughts?

I've installed that but it makes no difference. How do I check to see if it is actually trying to run. There are no error messages in Event Viewer.

Are there any messages concerning wpkg in your event viewer? (As I remember, there are some entries like Windows Scripting Host).

Have you tried to run wpkg manually (permission to read the wpkg share needed)?

cmd -> cscript \\server\wpkg\wpkg.js /synchronize /debug

It runs fine, it installs the software but requires a logon in order to kick off the installation. It's as if the service isn't starting properly at computer startup.

Er ok, it looks like I was being a bit of a plonker. I had installed the client and the wpkg-gp and for some reason it worked previously but then didn't on a fresh client. I have removed both and just installed wpkg-gp which seems to now work....how stupid do i feel:getmecoat:
