kevin_lane Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 strange on this im guessing it might have something to do with uac but i could be wrong why is it that when i want to ping a server i have to run as administrator when opening cmd other wise i get a ping transmit faliure
Geoff Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Ping uses raw sockets to send the ICMP messages. Raw sockets are restricted to admin users. This restriction can be easily circumvented with WinPcap.
